What Is PPM in Packaging Machines (and Why Quoted PPM Varies)

PPM means pouches per minute — the number of finished pouches a packing machine produces each minute. Quoted PPM always depends on pack size, product bulk density, film type and sealing method, which is why a machine rated 50–60 PPM at 100 gm may only run 15–25 PPM at 5 kg.

PPM (pouches per minute) is the output rating of a form-fill-seal machine. It counts finished, sealed and cut pouches, not fill cycles.

Why PPM falls as pack size rises
